I have struggled with my weight going up and down by 50 - 60 pounds over many years. It is frustrating because it is so hard to get where I want to be and stay there. I definatly have a problem with using food to deal with stress and comfort. That is the first thing I need to change. I also want to get back into running. I couldn't run very far, but I love how it makes me feel. My husband is my inspiration for running. I need to do it for my health, both mental and physical.

Hey there all!!! This week I haven't been feeling well. I think I caught a cold that just won't go away. I did manage to run 2 days this week. My muscles were very sore on Friday. I took saturday and sunday off to recover!! I hope to get out tomorrow, but it depends on how I am feeling!! I am running 3-4 minutes straight now. I am very excited about that. See ya next week!!

Excellent job! Doesn't it make you feel good to get out there and sweat - even with all that snow? I'll be running with you soon enough. I hope to have everything back in shape by spring - I can't wait to get back onto the trails. I think you'll like it out there!

This week I was able to get outside and excersise. I am now running for 2 minutes and walking for 1 minute to recover. I have increased my running time from 1 minute last week. I am following an eight week training program to get ready for my 5K race hopefully in the spring so each week my running time increases. Right now it is hard for me to picture running 3 miles straight, but I know I will do it!! Thanks for all of you who are keeping me motivated. It helps to stay on track when I know you will get a weekly report from me!!! See you all next week.

I just got my bloodwork back from the doctor today about my cholesterol. It wasn't good. My total cholesterol was 260. Triglycerides were 121, good cholesterol was 41, and the bad was 195. Yikes!!! I was nervous about getting the real numbers because you can't deny them. The doctor said he will check them again in 2 months time. He is not putting me on meds as of yet. My goal is to have them down by them so he doesn't have to. I guess I need to eat my oatmeal more often for breakfast!!

I do not have a weight change this week, but I am back to my walk/run program after several days of bitter cold. I am trying to keep track of what I am eatting so it will be real and I can't pretend what I may have eatten. Thanks for being there for my support. My goal is at least a 1 pound weight loss this next week.

I got out and ran in the snow yesterday. I dressed warmly enough because I didn't get cold except for my face. I did a run/walk for 30 minutes. It was nice to get out there again and run!

Today will be the first day to start my running program. I plan on running my first 5K (3.2 miles) in the spring. I will give updates later on how it went today. My program is to get out and run for 3 days each week. It seem doable so I am going to go for it!
